Today, I will be shining the spotlight on the lovely Te’Jah from the Midwest!
Te’Jah is a young lady who is focused on evolving into a better woman, wife, and mother. She is passionate about pursuing financial freedom, advocating for her Special Needs son, eating delicious food, cultivating a healthy marriage and family.
Q: What is a Fun Fact about You?
A: A fun fact about me is that I'm passionate about naps and finding the best restaurants!
Te’Jah has been married for nine years. She encountered her beloved husband on Facebook! “You got to love technology, he is my Soulmate!” Te’Jah expressed. Te’Jah shared that making time for her husband daily is a priority. In addition, one of her “love languages” is quality time. Te’Jah is a mother to young children. However, she finds unique ways to spend quality time with her MAN! Periodt!
“Some days, we have pillow talk for ten minutes some days, we binge watch shows during the kid’s quiet and bed-time. It's all about balance.”-Te’Jah
Te’Jah is a blessed mommy to two little humans! Ha! Te’Jah’s oldest child is a boy and has autism. She expressed, “My son's autism is not severe but it does affect his language and communication and his sleeping cycle.” Te’Jah’s youngest child, is a beautiful little girl, and has been diagnosed with a Speech Delay.
“My favorite thing about being a mommy is all the hugs and kisses!”-Te’Jah
Q: How do you manage household duties and life daily with having little humans?
A: Prayer, having a decent routine, a planner, a wall calendar, Google Calendar and now Alexa! LOL Has helped me tremendously with managing daily household duties.
“Self Care for me with having young children FIRST is silence! I love taking a nap, catching up on YouTube or Netflix shows in peace, and eating good food and snacks, while being children duty-free. I'm an ambivert with being more on the introvert side if you didn't notice!LOL”-Te’Jah
Q: What do your family and you enjoy doing together?
A: My family and I enjoy going to the park, family time, and eating at our favorite restaurants. Since Covid is still current, We try to limit outgoing activities for now. We would like to travel soon with our children to explore new places.
Q: If you were stuck on an Island, and could choose only one food for the rest of your life to eat…What would it be?
A: I would definitely eat a falafel everyday, if that was my only food choice being stuck on an island.
Te’Jah opens up about the reality she experienced after her son’s diagnosis. “When my son was diagnosed with autism, I was very sad!” Te’Jah expressed that after she cried for a week, she along with her husband begin to advocate for their son.
“Speech therapy has been a tremendous help to my son since the age of two. He is more vocal now. We started speech therapy with early intervention, and when he aged out of the program, we enrolled him into private speech therapy. Occupational Therapy is also needed since my son is a sensory seeker.”
“My son has amazed everyone! He is very smart and sweet!”-Te’Jah
Q: What advice would you give to parents who have kids with Special Needs?
A: My advice for parents with Special Needs children is to cry when needed, don't pour from an empty cup, give yourself grace, don't be afraid to ask questions or for help, and give yourself grace.
“My faith in God keeps me motivated in life.”-Te’Jah
Q: What is something that is a pet peeve or get on your last nerves?
A: My major pet peeve is when people sneeze without covering their nose and mouth.

Q: With inflation and prices increasing, what are some of the strategies your family implements to save money?
A: We save money as a family by eating vegetarian. My daughter and I eat meat in moderation. We don't buy expensive clothes or shoes. I love using coupons or taking advantage of lunch specials as well.
“One of my best financial tips I learned is how to boost your credit score. I estimate between 5-7 years to be completely debt free.”-Te’Jah
Q: What was your dream job as a child?
A: My dream job as a child was to be a pastry chef. By now you should notice that I enjoy naps and food!
Q: If you won one million dollars, how would you spend it?
A: First, I will donate to a few churches. Next, I would put a nice amount in savings, Third, I will pay off our 6 figure debts, and last, my husband and I will sit down for a week and discuss our next plan of action with the rest of the money.
During this season of life, Te’Jah is mainly focused on being a Homemaker. In addition she expressed, “For now, I don't plan to return to corporate America. I assist my husband with his businesses. I would like to start some side hustles.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: In ten years, I would like to first see myself ALIVE! I would like to be walking in truth and living life unapologetically!
“If I had the power to change the world, I would create FREE healthcare which includes resources on nutrition and exercise programs, so people can live longer and paying for health insurance would no longer be a burden financially on people!”-Te’Jah
